Approach to the Clients: The appropriate attitude to take with a TV-Button customer is to be "helpful" and "agreeable." Here are some rules of thumb:
- Most clients are nervous about being on camera, or excited to tell you about their business. We all win if they enjoy the experience.
- They assume that you are already familiar with their business since you have seen the script. Make sure and read it before you arrive so that you don't make them repeat what they have already told the Producer/Writer.
- Alterations and substitutions are OK, but whole new ideas or sections should be incorporated into the "next" TV-Button program.
Establish the Timeline early (set expectations first):
When you first arrive at the client's location, set their expectation about when you have to be completed and on your way to the next shoot. Subsequently, if things get out of control during the shoot, then you are in a much better position to work out a follow-up schedule. In addition, the clients should already have been aware that they only have a limited time, so you should only be "confirming" with them that they need to keep the production moving.

The standard Talent Release form that should be completed by all individuals included in principle rolls in the TV-Button program. It is not necessary for all background appearances, but anyone who speaks, or is the subject of a roll-play within the footage should sign. For example, if a hair salon owner is being interviewed within their shop, and there are some individuals in the background getting their hair done, those background individuals do not need to sign. But, if they offer a testimonial, or are used as a model (even without speaking), then they need to sign.

The final item in the training packet is WebcastingTV's "Webcast Standards and Practices" policy statement. This document articulates the nature of the content that WebcastingTV will include within a TV-Button program. It is similar to documents used as guidelines for conventional broadcast television. It is safe to say, "WebcastingTV limits its video content to the same sort of programming you would see on regular TV."
Please review the document for guidelines on explicit language, sexual content, copyrighted material, misleading simulations, the portrayal of illegal drugs or alcohol consumption, and instructional criminal behavior. WebcastingTV endeavors to be a good citizen and maintain a conservative ethical position with regard to this and any unspecified video content. You will be expected to follow these guidelines and advise our customers when needs arise. You can always seek guidance from our support personnel if you find yourself in an uncertain circumstance.
